In Mangochi today, faith leaders from the Moslem and Catholic Community have signed a peace accord following misunderstandings which arose between them.
This is a process facilitated by the Public Affairs Committee (PAC).
The Muslim Association of Malawi, Quadria Muslim Association of Malawi, and the Islamic Commission for Justice and Freedom have been meeting with the Catholic leadership in Mangochi.
At the centre of the discussions was the need for measures to avert recurrence of the differences arising from misunderstandings on faith.
The two sides have agreed to encourage peace and negotiations in all future cases of misunderstandings.
Meanwhile, the parties have also discussed dialogue, popularization of an MoU on the Hijab and peace messaging.
